Deforestation effects the climate in many ways. For example in the rain forest trees block out a lot of the sunlight. therefore the soil is moist. Without those trees the soil wont be moist and will dry up. Trees also are a big deal in the water cycle. Trees return back the water vapor to the atmosphere. Without trees a lot of these rain forests would turn into deserts. Trees block out the sunlight in the day and hold the heat at night. If you didn't have trees to do that then there would be a big change in temperature. This would effect plants and animals. Trees play a very critical role in absorbing the green house gases. If there was no trees that mean the green house gases go up into the atmosphere and make global warming even worse.
